The Peace Center/Volunteer Opportunities
The Peace Center is a food and clothing distribution center serving individuals in New Prague and the immediate Hospital service area. Founded in 1983 and located on the Hospital campus, Peace Center serves the community by helping nearly 5,000 individuals per year with their everyday needs.
The Peace Center relies on area businesses and individuals for food and monetary donations. Individuals, churches, and civic organizations have been extremely generous over the years with donations of food, clothing, and money to help those who need an occasional helping hand.

Walk-ins are welcome at the Peace Center on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. If you are unable to come during those hours, you may make an appointment to come on Tuesday or Thursdays evenings from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. or the first Saturday of each month from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. For an appointment, call 952-873-2354 or 952-758-8195.
To Make a Donation
Donations of food and other non-perishable items can be dropped off at the Peace Center during regular operating hours. Monetary donations are also gratefully accepted. Please mail checks made out to Peace Center to the above address, to the attention of Noreen Seurer. Because of space constraints, we are not accepting donations of clothing or household items at this time.
To Seek Assistance
Clients are accepted from the Queen of Peace service area and do not need an appointment or a referral; however you must show proof of residence. Clients are encouraged to use the food shelf in their home communities.
Volunteer Opportunities
Do you have a few hours of spare time? Do you like being with people? Do you want to make a difference? The Queen of Peace Hospital Auxiliary is a group of dedicated women and men who volunteer a few hours at a time helping patients and staff in a variety of ways:
- answering phones
- escorting patients
- passing meal trays and nourishment to patients
- directing visitors
- working in the Gift Shop or Peace Center
- helping with routine clerical duties
Volunteers may choose to work one morning or afternoon a week, a month, or as often as their schedule allows.
